The Age of Mammals
By the Cretaceous–Paleogene extinction, Pangea was fully separated but still had a little bit to go. This also marks the end of the Mesozoic Era and the beginning of the Cenozoic, Also known as the Age of Mammals, from Greek καινός kainos "new", and ζωή zoe "life". It is divided into Paleogene period, the neogene period and the quaternary period (current).
