Akbar the Great
Akbar the great died on October 27, 1605, possibly poisoned by his son Jengahir. It was a bitter death for the justest and wisest ruler that Asia has ever known. One of his sons, Jehan, took the throne after killing all his brothers, and was overthrown by the grandson, Aurangzeb. The support of the people, so wisely won by Akbar, was forfeited by the cruelty of Jengahir, the wastefulness of Jehan, and the intolerance of Aurangzeb

Full disclosure, I may occasionally borrow a sentence from Will Durant's Story of Civilization. I absolutely love that collection!
